SMART LAGs

The project idea is directed towards promotion and implementation of the emerging concept of Smart Villages among partnering LAGs. As this is a new concept we consider necessary to discover, describe and distribute information about it among local communities of LAGs.
The project aims to bring together LAGs from EU to work together for promotion and further implementation of Smart villages concept thus contributing for improving quality of life in the participating regions.
Proposed specific objectives / activities:
- To perform regional analyses;
- To build capacity among local stakeholders;
- To build an Internet platform for digital exchange for transnational knowledge sharing, mutual learning and territorial collaboration;
- To raise awareness.

The present project idea is at initial stage of development. We are searching for LAGs from EU wishing to work together for promotion and further implementation of “Smart villages concept” thus making participating LAGs “SMART LAGs” meaning LAGs supporting and implementing “SMART” solutions at local and transnational level.
The concept “Smart villages” is a relatively new and – at least in our region – there isn’t enough information about it. At the same time, it is directed towards rural areas and communities and could significantly contribute for local development.
These are the reasons we would like to work together with other LAGs for analyzing, distribution of information, capacity building and providing Internet platform for exchange of knowledge, information and practices.

Proposed activities:
- Regional analyses for the needs of local communities and implementation of “Smart villages”concept;
- Building capacity through seminars and workshops;
- Building of Internet platform for digital exchange for transnational knowledge sharing, mutual learning and territorial collaboration;
- Information and communication activities.
