Michael Dower is visiting Professor of European Rural Development at the University of Gloucestershire, England. He is vice chairman of the Southern Dorset Local Action Group, deploying LEADER funds in southwest England. He was previously Coordinator of the PREPARE Partnership for Rural Europe and Joint Coordinator of the European Rural Parliament. He has had much contact with the LEADER approach since it was initiated in 1991.
