How to get to Évora?

Évora is an important city in the south of Portugal, being the largest in the Alentejo region. It is located approximately 130 kilometers away from Lisbon and is served by a good road network and a good public transport network.

By airplane:

The nearest airports to Évora are Lisbon (Humberto Delgado Airport, 131 km away) and Faro (Faro International Airport, 226 km away).

By car:

Coming from Lisbon, you can leave the city through the 25 de Abril Bridge (south of the city) or the Vasco da Gama Bridge (north of the city), depending on your location. If you decide to take the 25 de Abril Bridge you should take the A2 and then take the A6. If you choose to take the Vasco da Gama Bridge, take the A12 and enter the A6. After exiting the A6, follow the N114, Évora will be only 12 km away. In both cases the trip takes approximately 1h30.

Coming from Badajoz / Spain, take the A6 and then the N18. Évora is located only 15 km from the highway exit. The trip takes less than 1h15 and is just over 100km.

Coming from Faro, take the A22 (Via do Infante) and then the A2. Exit towards Beja / Castro Verde and follow the IP2. It will take approximately 2h30 to go through the 226 km that separate Faro from Évora.

By train:

On weekdays there are 4 daily trains connecting Lisbon to Évora. On weekends this number is reduced to 3. In Lisbon you can take the train to Évora in the stations of Oriente, Entrecampos or Sete Rios, with the three stations being served by the subway (Metro) and by urban buses (Carris).
